Personal Training sessions are just that - PERSONAL. You'll have one on one attention from our certified Personal Trainer who will work with you to assess where you're at and help create a customized plan to get you on your journey to where you want to be.

What is Personal Training?
Think of this an an accountability partner for your health and fitness that is motivated by YOUR goals! The passion, energy and desire of the personal trainer will keep you motivated while having fun. A good personal trainer delivers safe, effective, workouts for all levels and provides personalized plans for each client to help them realize their goals. Examples of personal training plans can include fitness goals, nutrition information, strength/resistance training and home workouts to keep you motivated between sessions.

Do I need to be super-fit to work with a Trainer?
No. Absolutely not. That would be like having your hair done before you go to your stylist for your appointment, or painting your nails prior to going to the nail salon. Personal trainers exist to guide you on your path to wellness. Whether or not you are the picture of *perfect* health, we all have things we want to work on and often just aren't sure how. Sure, we can read and research and follow a diet plan, but if you've not greatly studied overall health and wellness, it can be difficult to pull it all together. Sometimes we each just need a little help. And that's why we're here.
Note our use of *perfect*. No one is perfect. No one. Perfection does not exist. In the journey of overall wellness, we don't strive for perfection, we strive for progress. And progress makes all the difference in the world.
How does this work?
First, you reach out. That's where it starts. Meeting with Sheri in-person or via phone or even via Zoom for 30 minutes is your next step. She'll listen to you as you identify your concerns and thoughts on your progression of your health. From there, if you'd like to begin your journey, you'll book your first session or sessions. In between sessions, you may touch base with any questions or concerns. Sheri (and the entire team at Sheer Blue) is there to help you along the way.

What do I wear?

Let's take the pressure off the 'right' outfit. Our promise is to deliver quality, fun, effective workouts that will boost your energy and lift your spirits. All you need is clothing that won't hinder your ability to move freely.
Remember, this is a one-on-one session and as long as you can move, Sheri does not care what you're wearing. Read: $100 yoga pants are not required. One suggestion - Layers. As your blood starts pumping, you can easily remove a sweatshirt or outer layer. Proper footwear will be key. If it's been a while since you've purchased a pair of supportive cross-trainers, now may be the time. But, definitely wear them a bit prior to your first session so that you don't experience those 'first-time-in-my-new-shoes blisters' that no one loves! Also, during the winter months, please bring your workout shoes to change into. Leaving your 'street shoes' at the door will help us to keep our studio space free of all the mess that gets tracked in from the outdoors. |
What equipment do I need?
Based on your consultation, Sheri will design your workouts with your goals in mind and be sure to have the right equipment ready when you arrive for your sessions! The best items to bring for your sessions are a yoga mat, water bottle and a PMA. Way back in the day, a beloved local track coach used to call it your PMA - positive mental attitude!
Don't have a mat? We have a handful of beginner mats at the studio for purchase that are super-affordable. Don't go out and spend upwards of $80 on a new mat before you start. As you progress further, you may find that your basic mat is perfect for what you need. If you want to up-level your mat, we're happy to help guide you into which might work best for you. There's so many choices out there and it's intimidating to spend the $ when you aren't sure what you're getting in return!
Remember to bring a water bottle to keep hydrated during your session!

How do I book & how much is it?
Our Personal Training sessions are typically booked directly with Sheri so the two of you can figure out an available time together. Call, email or text us at the Studio and we'll hook you up. To save you some time and sanity, the sessions are not able to be booked on our Calendar.
