N E W T O Y O G A?
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
HOW TO BOOK - Must Pre-Register!
Our fancy booking system is a thing of the past. You'll find teal colored Book My Class Now buttons throughout the site - this is how you'll get to the page where you'll register for your class. Scroll to find the class you want. Click SELECT > BOOK CLASS > Enter Your Information and click BOOK CLASS.
WHEN DO I SHOW UP?
As your instructor, I'll be ready and waiting for you prior to the start of class. Classes will start exactly on time, so please plan to arrive early enough to find your spot and get yourself set up so you're ready to begin when class starts. For our outdoor classes, I will be on site approximately 15 minutes before class. For classes at our indoor locations, currently, plan to arrive 5 minutes before class, ready to set up your space.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
For outdoor classes, please dress in and/or bring layers!
Be comfortable. No fancy workout outfits or expensive yoga pants are required to join us, (but some of them definitely do make moving your body through class a little easier. The struggle is real, folks!) but you want to make sure that you are able to move freely and that whatever you're wearing isn't going to hinder your ability to do so. You do you - if you're most comfortable in a tank and sweatpants, wear that. If you prefer a sports bra and yoga pants, wear that. It's your experience - just keep it clean and be respectful of the other members of our community.
SHOULD I EAT FIRST?
By no means do we want you to be starving when you come to classes, but showing up directly after a huge breakfast or dinner probably isn't your best idea. Light meals or snacks prior to class are great.
HYDRATE
Water is so important! Be sure to bring a water bottle along to class so you can sip when you need to. Personal story - my first in-studio yoga class experience involved me tipping over my metal bottle on a wood floor in a room-full of 40 yogis. The instructor said, 'It's not a yoga class unless somebody tips over a water bottle.' It happens! Just plan for it! Now that we're not solely in the studio with only tile floors, this might not be such an issue, but it's still a funny story! Moral of said story? Bring your water!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Typical yoga gear includes (but is not necessary and/or limited to):
Yoga Mat
Blanket (think a more stiff style - comforters are too puffy to hold your bum off the ground!)
Yoga Blocks
Yoga Strap
Bolster/Cushion
If you need a gear, please reach out prior to class so I can be sure to have what you need. With classes being at differing sites, I may not have all the things, all the time. Just reach out - I'm happy to grab what you need!
By no means do you need to run out and purchase all of this gear if you've never been to a class. I can offer basic mats and blocks that are available to use and to try out during class before you lay down money for gear. I also have blankets, yoga straps, eye pillows and a handful of bolsters. If you would like suggestions for alternate things you can use for the above items, just reach out. We'll share some tips and tricks with you for items you can use that you probably have around the house.
Additionally, every so often, I offer a group sale on Jade Yoga gear. There is a minimum order, but the pricing is lower and we don't pay shipping as a group. So, watch for those announcements if you'd like to get your hands on a Jade mat, strap, etc.
