Join Sheer Blue at the Bay Stone Lodge
From JW Wells State Park...
'Located 200 yards from the park's swimming beach, the lodge sleeps up to 11 people, has two baths, a screened porch with outdoor table and chairs, stone fireplace and hardwood floors. The use of hand-hewn beams and stones collected from Lake Michigan's Green Bay showcases the craftsmanship demonstrated by the 1940s era of the Civilian Conservation Corps. The name, Bay Stone Lodge, reflects the use of local construction materials.'
Why the Bay Stone?
JW Wells and the lodge hold a special place in Wendy's heart. She and her husband were married on the shores of Lake Michigan 13 years ago this year. They stayed in the Bay Stone for a week with family and friends in preparation for their big day, sharing lots of love and laughter, creating so many memories in that time. When thinking about the location to hold Sheer Blue's first retreat, this seemed like the perfect place! A low-key, State Park experience, this retreat will bring us back to the simple things in life. Nourishment for the body and mind through movement, meditation, self-exploration, community, laughter and lots of beautiful, hand-prepared foods to delight the senses!

Details
Our retreat begins Thursday at 2pm with our Welcoming Ceremony and ends Sunday morning following our final yoga practice and breakfast with checkout between 9-10am to get you on the road back home, feeling alive and renewed!
Each day is filled with activities, including daily yoga and free time throughout the day for you to explore the parks hiking or biking trails, find a cozy spot on the beach to read that book you've been meaning to get to, or even catch a few extra hours of shut-eye. While we have a host of amazing things for you to take part in, (and hope that you do!) please know that this is your retreat! You have the flexibility to join us for whatever parts of the retreat that you wish and skip those that you don't. But seriously, we've got some great things in the works ... We're not spilling the beans about them all, but we know you're going to love the experience and how it truly revitalizes your soul!
We'll have on-site activities as well as a day trip on Friday to visit a few of the UP's most sought-after attractions. Feel free to pack your hiking shoes, strap on your bike to use on the riding the trails or even bring your kayak. ( JW Wells is on the shores of Lake Michigan and it does tend to be a bit rough toward the beach, so we recommend experienced kayakers only! Please remember your own PFD. )
Healthy, gorgeous and largely plant-based meals and snacks will be available throughout the retreat. If you have certain dietary restrictions, please reach out so we can discuss your individual needs. Upon check-in, all meals and snacks are included in the cost of your stay. Following your booking, we'll send a dietary questionnaire, amongst the other needed information, so we can be fully prepared to delight your senses with amazing foods to nourish your body & mind.

About the YogaThis is a wellness retreat, so of course there will be plenty of yoga to guide our journey! We'll experience a handful of different types of yoga practices throughout our weekend journey. A bit of meditation, Himalayan Hatha practices including Kriya breathwork, Restorative and Yin yoga classes are all in the plans to complement our time at the Lodge as we find our flow. An Energy Medicine Yoga instructor, Wendy always brings these teachings to classes as well! As weather allows, we'll do our best to ground ourselves while immersing in our natural surroundings. Our aim is to teach you a few new things that you can incorporate into your practice at home, deepening your journey through yoga and enhancing your life's experience.

Please plan to bring your yoga gear - your mat, blocks a blanket and strap are perfect. If you have any bolsters or extra pillows on hand, plan to bring those, too. They're an excellent addition to our Yin and Restorative practices. Don't forget your journal. You'll have plenty of opportunity to share your thoughts! We promise, we'll help you carry in your things!
Our Day Trip
We'll spend plenty of time at JW Wells with free time to explore the park, immersing ourselves in all

With our trip being all about showing up to love ourselves, relaxing and renewing our minds and bodies, we'll take a little time for each one of you to have have a mini photo sesh! Shy around a camera? Nah, girl...Flow with it! You've got this! And we've got you! We're going to let that inner beauty shine through, making you feel like the shining diamond that you are. As we walk along the shores of Sand Point Beach, there are so many beautiful places to pause to capture you, surrounded by the grounding element of some of the most beautiful earth the world has to offer.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made prior to a pre-determined date will receive a full refund for any payments made.
- Cancellations made between these pre-determined dates will receive a 50% refund on any payments made.
- Any cancellations made on this pre-determined date or later will forfeit the return of any payments made unless Sheer Blue is able to rebook your spot in the retreat.
Our retreat must have a minimum of 3 participants to run as scheduled. Any payments made to Sheer Blue will be returned upon cancellation of our retreat, or may be applied to our next scheduled retreat dates at the choosing of each participant.
Registration must be completed by this pre-determined date.
Please take care to be sure that the retreat dates work for you prior to booking. Payments are being made to outside vendors and materials are being purchased to prepare for our event. As a small company, we hope that you understand the need for our pro-rated refund policies. As we near the retreat dates, it will be increasingly more difficult to fill the spots last minute.

Hi! I'm Wendy!
It's been a dream of mine since my early beginnings in yoga training to someday lead retreats ... the day has finally come! I hope you'll join me! I'm so excited to take you to a place that hold special memories for me personally and has become a place of healing and nourishment for my heart and soul. It is my sincere hope that it will become this place for you, too! My Yoga Training? I have 2-200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certifications and am also a certified EMYoga Foundations practitioner and ThetaHealing practitioner. I have also trained in Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, Ayurveda, Chair Yoga, Kids Yoga and Aerial Yoga. My experience in leading retreats? While I'm just getting going at leading retreats, I've got a lifetime of planning, organizing, coaching and nurturing behind me. I've laid out such an amazing gathering for us to practice self-love, let go of unnecessary things that are weighing us down, to refresh and revitalize in the beautiful, natural outdoor settings of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I'm so excited about this retreat and can't wait for you to join me! |
